APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Surface Preparation : Abrasive blasting to SSPC-SP6 Commercial Blast is normally recommended. However, power tool or hand tool cleaning in accordance with SSPC-SP3 or SSPC-SP2 is acceptable. Remove all dirt, oil, grease, rust scale and contaminants. New galvanized metal must be free of form oils, and may require light sanding or etching.

Mixing and Thinning : Power mix until uniform in consistency. Water may be added up to 5 % by volume, although normally not necessary.

Method of Application : Roller or spray. When rolling, use a short nap synthetic roller. When spraying with airless equipment, use equipment such as a Graco Bulldog 300 : 1 or larger, with a tip size of .017 - .019.

Conditions : AlphaShield 469TM should not be applied at temperatures below 50 degrees F, or if weather conditions will not permit drying before rain, dew, or freezing temperatures. Cool temperatures and high humidity retard cure. Do not apply when surface temperature is less than 5 deg. F above the dew point.

When surface temperature is low and air temperature is high, pay particular attention to maximum application thickness of 2 - 3 mils to prevent surface skinning and possible blistering.

CAUTION : Individuals with sensitivity to nuisance dust or organic materials should consult a physician before use. Avoid prolonged contact with skin. Do not take internally. Do not induce vomiting if taken internally. Store at temperatures above freezing. Close container after each use. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. Water based product. Keep above 32 deg. F, 0 deg. C. Use with adequate ventilation and wear gloves or use protective cream on face and hands if hypersensitive.
