Alpha 8® is a premium quality, high performance, 100% acrylic, elastomeric roof coating. It provides long term protection for a wide variety of roofing substrates. It is particularly valuable for coating polyurethane foam, metal decks, mineral cap sheet and aged built-up roofing. Alpha 8TM has been tested by the Underwriters Laboratories and meets the requirements for Class A. Ace Coating Company uses only the highest quality raw materials to produce Alpha 8®, considered to be one of the finest elastomeric acrylic coatings available on the market. Production is rigidly controlled to assure consistent quality in every batch of coating. Alpha 8® provides outstanding resistance to the effects of weather, temperature changes, ultraviolet radiation and mildew. FIRE RETARDANCY : Alpha 8® has been tested by Underwriters' Laboratories and meets the requirements for their Class A rating ( in accordance with UL 790 ). Additionally, the tests have been conducted by the United States Testing Company in accordance with ASTM E-108 ( comparable to U.B.C. Standard 32-7 ) and meets those requirements for Class A. State of California Fire Marshal Listing No. 4175-1484:100, Roof Covering, (Miscellaneous). WEATHERABILITY : Alpha 8® provides unmatched protection from even hot desert sun. Its special formula protects the underlying substrate from the damages of ultraviolet ( UV ) radiation. Additionally, Alpha 8® is undamaged by the high temperatures that can be found on a roof. It remains flexible over time because it does not contain any plasticizers. Many lower quality coatings contain plasticizers that can migrate out, leaving behind a rigid coating with an oily residue on its surface which collects dirt. Alpha 8® is designed to maintain its flexibility over the life of the roof and retain its clean, bright appearance. Alpha 8® also maintains its flexibility in sub-freezing temperatures. SAFE TO USE : Alpha 8® is a water based product which contains no solvents or hazardous chemicals. Water based means there are no clean-up problems and no pot life problems. It is non-flammable. Alpha 8® is ready to use and requires no dilution or additions. EASY TO USE : Alpha 8® may be applied by spray, brush or roller. No thinning is required. All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dirt, grease, oil or other contaminants which would interfere with proper adhesion. Contact your Ace Coating Company Technical Representative for detailed application recommendations. LIMITATIONS : Alpha 8® should not be applied at temperatures below 50 degrees F or if weather conditions would not permit drying before rain, dew or freezing temperatures. Cool temperatures and high humidity retard cure.
